How Our Free Flooring Estimates Work
You tell us about your floor in one short form, an independent local installer who covers your area gets in touch, and you get a written estimate to compare. It is free, and you decide at the end whether to hire anyone.
The four steps
Tell us about your floor
Send your first name, mobile number, ZIP code, the type of floor and the approximate size in the estimate form. It takes about a minute.
We check your request
We make sure an installer has what they need to give you a real number: the area, the material and the size of the job.
A local installer gets in touch
An independent installer who covers your area contacts you by phone or email to ask questions and arrange measurements.
You get a written estimate
Compare an itemized estimate at no cost, then decide. There is no obligation to hire.

What to have ready for an accurate estimate
The more an installer knows up front, the closer the first number is to the final price. Four details help most.
- Room sizeMultiply length by width for each room and add them up. For tile, plan about 10% extra for cuts (15% for diagonal layouts).
- What is on the floor nowCarpet, vinyl, laminate or old tile. Removing old tile takes the most work.
- The material you wantTile, vinyl plank, laminate or hardwood. If you are not sure, say so and ask for options.
- Anything unusualStairs, a step-down room, cracks in the slab, or a shower or backsplash in the same job.
What a good written estimate includes
Ask for an itemized estimate with removal, slab prep, materials, labor, trim, schedule and warranty on separate lines. That is the only way to compare two installers fairly. Our cost guides before you call show sourced price ranges, such as the tile price ranges per square foot, so you can tell whether a number is in line.

What happens to your information
Your request is shared only with an independent local installer who can quote the job. We do not sell your information, and you can ask us to delete it at any time. Read who runs this site and our privacy policy for the details.
Questions about the estimate
Is the flooring estimate really free?
Yes. Sending a request and getting an estimate costs nothing, and you are never obligated to hire anyone. Any contract for the work is between you and the installer you choose.
Who will contact me?
An independent local flooring installer who covers your area contacts you by phone or email about your estimate. We tell you this before you send the form, and we do not sell your information.
Do I have to be home for the estimate?
For an exact price, an installer usually needs to see the room or get accurate measurements and photos. Ask the installer how they prefer to measure when they contact you.
What if I am only researching prices?
Choose "Just researching" in the timeline field. You can also read the sourced ranges in our cost guides first and send a request when you are ready.
Can I ask you to delete my information?
Yes. Email us and we will delete your request from our records. Installers who received your request are independent businesses, so ask them directly about the copy they hold.
